Cheryl Logston is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and earned her Master of Social Work from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. With over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, Cheryl brings a broad base of knowledge and skills for helping people cope with life’s challenges.
Cheryl’s mental health work experience began as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in an adult psychiatric in-patient facility. It was there she developed skills creating opportunities for expression using music, art, poetry, and interactive written exercises for both groups and individual sessions. In 2000, Cheryl began working as a school social worker where she utilized her creativity in assisting 100’s of teens and their parents navigate the unique developmental stage of adolescence.
Cheryl is prepared and honored to help people ages 13-99 with their concerns such as depression, anxiety, grief/loss, LGBTQ issues, chronic mental health issues, divorce, parenting issues, trauma, PTSD, and anger management. Cheryl uses a cognitive behavioral therapy approach along with other strategies she has acquired in her therapy “toolbox." Cheryl offers faith-based counseling drawing on her deep lifelong spiritual connection to Christ.
